CWA News

The Association of Alternative Newsweeklies had its annual convention this last weekend in Portland. Here are some highlights:

• Tom The Dancing Bug picked up the AAN award for Best alt-weekly comic strip for the third time. Ted Rall, Derf, and Shannon Wheeler were also nominated.
• Jen Sorensen was in town for the conference and much partying and schmoozing took place along with fellow Porlander Shannon Wheeler. She has a wrapup on her blog.
• I managed to garner a quote on the AAN website from Portland writer Kevin Allman's blog entry on us alty cartoonists.
