[/Dithering]

I'm trying to reconcile the way conservatives treated the military decisions of Bush with those of Obama and I've come up with the following formulation: You must be willing to follow the Commander In Chief into the gaping maw of a death chasm without a shred of doubt or criticism...unless he takes a few months to make that decision!

I couldn't agree with this more. Great work!

I think that about covers it... I would add the additional caveat that you have even fewer doubts when you have strong ties to the corportations who benefit the most from the military action.

Great summation! I think I'll get that tattooed somewhere on my body. Now if I could just figure out where....

I'm really no fan of sending more troops either, but at the minimum, at least Obama took time to listen to advisers. He's given an exit time-frame. There is actual thought and planning in place.

This is orders of magnitude more than the Bush administration. McChrystal has even said that he wants to work with the Taliban so that they'll "Lay down their arms."

I mean, sure he's not admitting that we destroyed their country and that before we got there, most of what we call 'The Taliban' were totally legitimate tribal municipal governments that both Pakistan and Afghanistan negotiated with to maintain peace.

It's a step up. No one is going to be happy on either side with Obama. He's a centrist. Don't expect anything grad, just except someone who thinks a little before action.
