That is the unfortunate duality of a world leader who follows a war-monger. I wonder what Jimmy Carter would have done had he been in such a situation? Do you think LBJ wanted to continue Vietnam??
Big Mark, Obama didn't have to escalate the was in Afganistan. He made a choice to ramp up the war. LBJ didn't have to escalate Vietnam, either. And who did he inherit his mess from? Kennedy! Or are you blaming Vietnam on Eisenhower? And speaking of Jimmy Carter, it was under Carter that U.S. involvement BEGAN, in the form of supporting the mujahadin, later to become our good friends Al Qaeda! Why would you just continue making excuses for Democrats, and not face facts that they are just as responsible for our country's wars as tose evil Republicans? What do you gain from failing to confront obvious reality?
Matt, I'm sorry, but this is just cold, cruel, and offensive.
Afghanistan was the Vietnam of the Soviet Union. However, it is very difficult that Afghanistan proves to be a hard bone for the NATO forces. In any regard, American taxpayers should know that their hard-earned money is wasted in a crazy enterprise of "nation building". This money is a money that will not be used to create jobs, to fund education and health of the American people.
Matt, I'm sorry, but this is just true, true, and true.
