Driving Mr. Bin Laden

Trillions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of lives lost. But hey, Osama Bin Laden's driver is on trial at Gitmo. I'm sure he's on the edge of his seat waiting for the verdict. In the unlikely case he is found innocent, he will still be escorted back to his cell until the cessation of hostilities between America and Terror. This is a show trial.

From the NYTimes:
Mr. Hamdan’s offenses are not enumerated anywhere, but appear to include checking the oil and the tire pressure.
Republicans: feel free to associate Obama's suggestion to inflate our tires with Al Qaeda.

If checking tire pressure is a crime, is that, is that why Obama recommended it as part of his undercover madrassa agenda?

Now with Hamdan convicted, what kind of precedent does this set? Will Secret Service agents be charged with supporting Bush's war crimes?

You know, I was thinking today about a comic on that. Maybe instead of letting everyone off the hook, Nancy Pelosi could hold Bush's limo driver accountable for supporting his war crimes.

I think it would make a good comic. Unfortunately yesterday I learned that Pelosi doesn't believe that Bush has commited any crimes or "impeachable offenses," which just blows my mind. She says instead that she took impeachment off the table because you can't impeach a president because you don't like his policy decisions. Guess that means that torture, warrantless wiretapping, and going to war on a stack of lies is just bad policy! Go figure. Listen to her say just that starting at 7m25s, during an interview with my local public radio station, here: http://www.publicbroadcasting.net/wamc/news.newsmain?action=article&ARTICLE_ID=1334812&sectionID=231

Outrageous. This would also make a good comic, Matt.

Thanks.

The recent allegation by Ron Suskind about The White House ordering the CIA to forge documents to push the case for Iraq would be another crime tacked on to the list.
