Why can't American politicians make their own songs, like the Norwegian labor party did during the 2005 election. They made the song "Arbeiderparty" (which is a pun on "Arbeiderparti", i.e. labour party) - a cover of a rap hit called "Kjendisparty" (celebrity party) with the leader as the main vocalist. Because they were ridiculed on national TV, they never released the song (and saved themselves from becoming YouTube-memes in the nick of time).
Well, it might not sound that funny if you're not from Norway, but imagine McCain releasing an R&B-song titled "Democ-RATS" and you'll understand.
