MailBag DoucheBag--Talkin Bout Nuts Edition

Kenny writes:
Sure Bush was and [sic] idiot, but you are idiotically as far to the Left as the idiot Bush was to the right. Additionally, your inability to see the dangers of collectivist socialism borders on infantile. My guess is you have no nut-sack. Your comics are complete drivel. I read them for a few weeks and then I put them in the category of Peanuts, not worthy of any intelligent person's time.
Ah, yes. Peanuts. I feel ashamed being put in the category of that widely derided failure of a strip.

What's with Kenny's affection for nuts? Peanuts. Nut sacks. Guy loves nuts. Kenny, you're my Nutty Buddy!

What always gets me, being a canuck, is the way Republicans (and I assume this includes our friend Kenny) throw around the word socialism. Obama would barely qualify for membership in our most right-wing party up here, north of the 49th -- he's too far to the right. ;)

I'd be honored to be in the same category as Peanuts. I just watched "Your in Love Charlie Brown" last week (combined with the barrage of hard drinking and self loathing that leads up to Singles Awareness Day), and it was incredibly dark; like really fracked up.

Schulz was an amazing writer, although horribly depressed. His elementary school characters often had the attributes of adults. He crossed a lot of generational lines with his work. It's kinda sad though when you realize just how much pain he was in during most of his life.

What always amazes me is how the word collectivism is used as a generic insult. Especially by people who couldn't tell you why it's bad save for the fact that it's not individualism.

Yeah, Charles Schulz, the first mainstream comic strip writer to address social issues like therapy and racism and sexism. Who has an entire museum in his honor. Who, upon his death, had tribute cartoons written for him by political and "comics page" cartoonists worldwide.

What a hack!
