Not So Fierce

Nobel Prize Winner Barack Obama promised to do a lot of things. We're waiting.

Wednesday: The Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning goes to...

Right. He's spearheaded the attempt to pass health care legislation, something none of his predecessors have even come close to.

He's done nothing though, you're right.

Typical far left hater.

Actually instead of "spearheading" health care reform, he took a hands-off approach and told Congress to write the legislation.

Timeless, unfortunately. It would make a fine commemorative plate.

Here's the headline on HuffPo today:

HISTORIC
"Not Since Theodore Roosevelt Proposed Universal Health Care During The 1912 Presidential Campaign Has Any Such Bill Come This Far"

Not good enough for you though Bors. Will you admit you were wrong? No, probably not.

Maybe Matt won't admit he was wrong, but I certainly will. A HuffPo headline -- my stars!

Right. Facts don't matter. Just your irrational hate.

Welcome to the left's answer to Glenn Beck.

I don't see how I'm wrong about the comic. Obama has not delivered so far on almost all of his promises--promises he said needed to be implemented with "fierce urgency."

I'm not sure how pointing that out is "irrational hatred."

"Welcome to the left's answer to Glenn Beck."

Um, yes, it's like they were separated at birth. Uncanny!

So the best you can say is that Obama has come closer to doing something without actually doing anything than anyone else in US history? Faint praise indeed...

I'm sure you don't see how you're wrong. Why would you?

Again: "Not Since Theodore Roosevelt Proposed Universal Health Care During The 1912 Presidential Campaign Has Any Such Bill Come This Far".

Is that not worthy of some positive praise? To take on the health care mafia is no easy task. For Bors, it's not enough.

Anonymous, you seem a bit, um, obsessed with Matt. Should we be activating the Stalker Alert?

This Anon is the same person who regularly comments. There's a reason he won't sign his name.

I guess I'll just use a name like Judas Peckerwood. That makes sense. Or shall I just make up a "real- sounding" name like James Smith? How about that Bors? Would that work for you? Make you feel all warm and yummy inside?

I like how you didn't respond to my comment, you just attacked my Anonymous handle.

Impressive.

I don't do cartoons that dole out positive praise. Go somewhere else for that stuff.

I believe that "Anonymous" has officially activated the Stalker Alert.

Exactly. Thank you for proving my point. You ignore facts so you can ply your trade: lies and hatred. If you had to acknowledge the positive achievements that Obama HAS accomplished, you wouldn't be able to spew your vicious bile.

How inconvenient for you. Actually, how convenient for you.

I shouldn't be agreeing with Anonymous, but he's got a point; this is just the same negative hater bullshit that the far left's been indulging in.

If you wanted real change, you should have voted for Ralph Nader or Dennis Kucinnich. You didn't, so you might as well stop your boo-boo bitching about what progress Obama's made. For what he's been able to make, he's made enough-more than the Repukes made any time that they've had people in office as POTUS. Change takes time, can't be rushed, and mostly depend on compromise sometimes-something that an adult like you should understand, but don't seem to.

Anon, there is no hatred against Obama in this piece. There is criticism. And left criticism to be precise. Without left criticism, Obama could not present himself as a moderate. So if all the progressives in the US must silence themselves in praise of Obama's Administration, then the far right would take advantage to point how radical Obama is.

It's disturbing how uncritical of Obama people can be. Things like repealing Don't Ask Don't Tell and closing Gitmo were supported by John McCain--they're not even liberal.

Time to get them done already.

I think it's kinda ironic/funny when a conservative supports supposedly "liberal" causes, which many liberals don't seem to care about.

You certainly don't have to be Mr Fish to see that Obama hasn't followed through on several promises and has done a full-backflip on others. To suggest as Anon seems to that Obama has been a great revolution is simply blinkered. I think Matt's got it well in perspective, certainly so in terms of the Nobel Peace Prize.

Then again, Obama's been in office for 10 mos out of what will most likely be 8 years (especially when you consider the potential 2012 Repuglican challengers- bring on Palin 2012, baby) There's lots of time for anybody's idea of a revolution.
