Civil Discourse
Cross-posted at the ACLU Blog of Rights
Today marks the departure of the Bush administration--and the opportunity to restore civil liberties and the rule of law to America. It's also the return of Civil Discourse, my bi-weekly comic for the ACLU. There's a lot to be done this year. I'll be chronicling the hilarity, absurdity and outrages and posting all my new cartoons here on the blog. If you want a look back at the insanity of the last few years, check the archive.

Jefferson's still spinning, just for a different reason. Not exactly a guy who walked the walk when it came to human rights...
Jefferson was far from perfect. So is Obama. But the man who showed complete disdain for our founding documents and the rule of law is gone.
Mr. Bors,
I have not seen your cartoons before. The one that I did today made my heart skip a beat. I have never been so proud of an Anti-American like yourself. Perhaps I may aspire to to be the worst human being that I can possibly be, so I may ensure that your eternal torture in hell is as painfull and evil as I can make it.
Nice cartoon; I can't really tell if josh.bousman was being ironic, sarcastic or straightforward when he commented, but if he was being ironic, I would say that I agree with him ;)
I can't wait to see "the [cartoon] that [josh.bousman] did today".
I'm impressed that your buddy Josh realizes that eternity with him would be a tortuous hell. That's what I keep trying to tell these Christians trying to "save" me.
So now that the inaguration is over and Obama is officially president, does this mean we can go back to being cynical and distrusting the government?
Josh: Only after we spend three weeks talking about what Michelle Obama wore to the inauguration.
Dude, my roommates and I were, like, having a debate over whether or not Michelle Obama was a hottie. I was totally like, she's a complete milf. And Laura Bush, pshh whatever.
Talking about Michelle Obama, on the upside, is still better than watching anything involving the keywords "real life" "housewives" and "orange county"... We're at least talking about someone kinda related to government.
