Anyone who believes that the Democratic Party wants comprehensive healthcare reform any more than the Republicans do is sadly deluded. Some principled individuals like Russ Feingold and Dennis Kucinich, yes. The "leadership" and the majority of Democrats in Congress, no fucking way.
They didn't stand against torture. They aren't demanding Gonzalez be investigated. They gave telecom blanket immunity.
Face it, the dems say they're liberal, but under it all they want the same control over the American people that all leaders want.
I agree with Judas on Kucinich. Probably Feingold too although I haven't kept up with him enough to make an honest judgment.
Ron Paul is another one of those politicians who is real and actually cares for the American people and liberty. I don't agree with anything he says or any of his ideas, but I can respect him for being real just the same.
