NAATB

Grover Norquist, who constantly whines about paying taxes, has compared describing Tea Party morons as "tea baggers" to using the word "nigger." And Tea Baggers sure do have it rough. They've had to deal with that horrible slur for, oh, 18 months now. In unrelated news, a poll showed they feel too much has been made of the problems facing black people.

Here is Grover's quote in full:
"This remark is the equivalent of using the 'n' word. It shows contempt for middle America, expressed knowingly, contemptuously, on purpose, and with a smirk. It is indefensible to use this word. The president knows what it means, and his people know what it means. The public thought we reached a new low of incivility during the Clinton administration. Well, the Obama administration has just outdone them," ATR president Grover Norquist tells Inside the Beltway.

So Grover Norquist has no blacks friends or grasp on history, distant or recent. That much is clear right away. But why even ascribe such sinister motivations to those of us who love to use the term? It's pretty simple: Americans love of a cheap, easy, dirty pun. If you hang bags of tea from your tri-cornered hat, people are probably going to mention the fact that dunking a nutsack into your mouth shares the phrase.

Blog Question

I don't think readers who subscribe to a feed are getting updates from this new blogger address. Comment if you are. I'm still trying to work all this out in my spare time.

Latino While (Not) Breathing

Yes, another cartoon on Arizona's immigration law. I promise to touch on all the other stuff happening in the country next week.

I've seen and heard a lot of not-brown people defending the law. An interesting poll shows a majority of Americans believe the law will result in racial profiling and, oh yeah, they approve of it!

Today in Insane

Glenn Beck cannot be parodied:
Mother's Day? Started 1914. Woodrow Wilson. Hate that guy. Love my mom. Hate the holiday. Now, you could go to Hallmark because Hallmark and Woodrow Wilson would like you to do that. But there's something new from Vermont Teddy Bear.

War Is Boring

I received the edited manuscript for War Is Boring. A few small changes and it's off to the printer.

Also, David Axe redesigned his website www.warisboring.com which uses some of my art.
